Employer’s Outsourcing Payroll Responsibilities

Many employers outsource some of their payroll and related tax duties to third-party payroll service providers (PSP). In these types of relationships, the employer still has the fiduciary responsibility to make sure the payments are made (not the PSP). Therefore, the IRS provides useful information for employers who are outsourcing payroll and using third party PSPs.
