To truly serve your community, you must lead it from within. As a CPA firm in Minneapolis, we want to be a strong advocate for the city and community we serve. That’s why when Lurie takes an active role in our community, we don’t just get involved. We get invested. We are the chairs, the founders, and the leaders of organizations we believe in. We are a living, breathing part of where we serve, and in that we have built a portfolio of experts, resources, and most importantly friends, that we never hesitate to call upon in being nimble and resourceful advocates for our clients. Always, our network is at work, for you.
As a corporate partner of SVP-MN, Lurie welcomes the challenge to transform the best social enterprises serving teens. Our team donates their functional expertise to SVP’s vetted nonprofits in the Twin Cities. The model SVP uses is proven to help social enterprises double their revenue during the engagement, and we want to be part of that effort.
Always a champion of diversity in business, Lurie is a founding member and active participant in the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA). We use our expertise and entrepreneurial roots to help minority-owned businesses grow, serving the MEDA mission to battle crime, poverty and unemployment in our community.
Lurie is a founding partner of the Women’s Business Development Center of Minnesota (WBDC) and was instrumental in the organization’s expansion into our community. We continue to provide leadership to the WBDC and the women it serves today in our foundational mission to promote diversity in business.
As a founding sponsor of the Minnesota Cup, Lurie continues to have an active role as judges, organizers and mentors for the competition. As the state’s largest venture capital competition—with over 10,000 participants annually—it is through Lurie’s guidance and commitment to finding and developing young talent and new ideas that our partnership has been so successful.
We work closely with the University of Minnesota and the Carlson School of Management to mentor and support future entrepreneurial talent. In addition, Lurie is a proud sponsor of a seminar from at the Carlson School and managing partner, Beth Kieffer Leonard sits on the the Board of Overseers.
Lurie is an avid supporter of the WPO and women in business at large. We are not only a leader and active sponsor of the WPO, but we personally founded all six regional chapters. Fulfilling the WPO’s goal of providing a dynamic forum for women leaders in community businesses is something we work every day to achieve.
