Lurie admits Matthew Brown, Nathan Shubert and Kate Siegrist into partnership

Matt Brown uses his accounting, legal and real estate experience to support clients with complex tax and business consulting matters. As a partner, Matt focuses on leading client engagements for individuals, privately held businesses, and trusts and estates. He advises on a wide array of tax matters including business start-up solutions, compensation structures, succession planning, wealth preservation strategies, and tax controversy work.
Matt has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago School of Business and his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law. He is an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Nate Shubert’s experience is in consulting with a diverse set of high-revenue businesses in the manufacturing & distribution, real estate, professional services and technology industries. As a partner, Nate advises business owners and high-net worth investors working directly with CFOs and controllers on tax planning, consulting and compliance matters. Nate’s expertise in M&A transactions, and ownership structuring and his commitment to client relationships have been instrumental to the firm’s success.
Nate is an active leader in the Twin Cities community. He currently serves on the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, which represents 700 businesses and 3,000 business leaders from local, national and internationally renowned corporations. He is also on the board of MNvest, an organization dedicated to helping ‘everyday Minnesotans’ raise money and/or invest in private Minnesota companies. In addition, Nate is an active member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from North Dakota State University.
Kate Siegrist leads Lurie’s growing technology practice and consults with business owners to help improve their security, compliance and technology controls posture. As a partner, she oversees the firm’s SOC 1, 2 and 3 practice, security assessments, IT strategic planning services, IT risk assessments, IT governance assessments, business and systems transformations, and controls audits. Kate has been a featured speaker on technology and controls topics relevant in this rapidly evolving arena.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and Finance from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management and is active in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Kate sits on the Finance Committee for Dress for Success Twin Cities, serves on the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management MIS Executive Advisory Board for Curriculum, and volunteers with the Women’s Business Development Center of Minnesota. In 2014 she was a recipient of the Top Women in Finance Award.
